Full Moon is my favourite Brandy album of ALL TIME. Out of her discography, it’s the only album that I always have on heavy rotation. Like most Brandy fans, I’ve always thought 1998’s “Never Say Never” was a good album but I personally always thought something was missing on it. 2002’s “Full Moon” is Brandy’s coming out moment as a grown woman because Moesha had been abruptly cancelled a few years prior and she was also on a hiatus from music and acting.
Before this album, many still saw Brandy as a teenager/young adult and at some point, she had to push past that and that’s where “Full Moon” and 2004’s “Afrodisiac” come in. Although some critics and fans weren’t ready for her new sound, this album is often referred to as a classic. There’s so many bops and timeless songs that evoke so much emotion that I personally think it’s odd for people to hate this album.
Depending on the version you have, the album ranges from 16-18 songs and tracks 2-13 are my favourites. Tracks 14 onwards are the only criticisms I have about “Full Moon” album as they’re skippable songs. If you haven’t listened to this album or haven’t listened to it in a long time, please revisit it as it was definitely slept on and deserves all the accolades.
Fave Songs: Full Moon, I Thought, When You Touch Me, All In Me, What About Us?, Anybody and Nothing.
